With school out, many parents have children at home with nothing to do.
PLEASE REMEMBER--children under 12 should not be left unsupervised for long periods of time.
If you have no childcare and are leaving children alone, contact your church, neighbors, or BGN for advice!
Children should still be learning and exercising each day. Try to send children outside for 30 minutes to play, 3-4 times every day. If it is too snowy to go outside, here are some exercise videos kids can do at home:

CORONAVIRUS STIMULUS CHECKS
Information below is courtesy of TaxSlayer.com https://www.taxslayer.com/blog/2020-coronavirus-stimulus-check-how-much-who-qualifies/
The U.S. government is about to send stimulus payments in the form of checks or direct deposit to many American taxpayers to help people financially survive the COVID-19 outbreak.
Who will receive a stimulus check?
To be eligible for a stimulus payment from the US government you need to meet the following requirements:
You must have filed a tax return for tax year 2018, 2019 or have a 2019 Form SSA-1099, Social Security Benefit Statement, or Form RRB-1099, Social Security Equivalent Benefit Statement
You must have earned less than $75,000 (single adult), 112,500 (single-parent household) or $150,000 (married/joint)
You must be a resident alien (***if you have your greencard and have filed a tax return or are a dependent on someone else's tax return, you should receive a check***)
You must not be claimed as a dependent on someone else’s tax return*
If you didn’t have to file a 2018 tax return, you still have time to file a tax return for 2019 and get your stimulus check.
Where will my stimulus check be sent?
The money will either be deposited directly into your bank account or mailed to you via check. You can deposit or cash the check like normal.
If you have not filed a 2019 tax return, the IRS will look to your 2018 tax return to acquire the information necessary to send you your payment.
What if I didn’t file my 2018 or 2019 taxes?
If you didn’t file in the past two years, the IRS recommends that you file your 2018 taxes as soon as possible. You can file your prior year return with TaxSlayer. Simply log in or create an account and choose 2018 return. For more information on prior year returns, read Can I File for Previous Years Online?
When will my stimulus check arrive?
The stimulus payments are expected to arrive in April according to government officials. If you are set up to receive direct deposit from the IRS, your payment will receive sooner than a mailed check.
What if I filed taxes, but I don't have my greencard yet?
We don't yet know. We will shre that information as soon as we do know. In the meantime, please reach out to Global Neighbors if you are unable to buy food, medicine, or pay rent. We will try to help you with the resources we have access to.

You will still have to listen to all the info and hear about changes made due to COVID but in the end, an automated voice will say, “if you still have questions, please stay on the line and a representative will be with you in a moment.” This person will be able to help you file over the phone.
Global Neighbors participants may also call 701-595-0135 if you need language help while filing.
We know that many local families have lost access to English classes at the Adult Learning Center, Bismarck Public Schools, and the library because of the COVID-19 coronavirus. Global Neighbors is considering hosting an online English learning program, called Voxy, if there is enough interest. If you or someone you know would be interested, please email us here and let us know!
We also have a WhatsApp group to share resources and information. If you are a local leader of an ethnic, national, or language group, please email Leah at email@example.com to be added to the group.
Finally, if you know of other resources that may be helpful to the community, let us know and we will add them to this page.
